Default My XR3i/RS turbo re-shell/restoration project

Right I fought it was about time to share my project with you guys, long story short i bought a 3i about 3 years ago and it was used as a daily drive until it spun a shell, I then retired that into storage and bought a S2 turbo and used that as a daily driver until the rust and leaking sunroof and constant engine problems got the better of me and i decided to put that into the shed and and start stripping the 3i and re shell all the turbo bits onto it. here are the pictures from the start to where i am now...

this is the XR3i after i got it home and gave it a good clean and polish and fitted my team dynamics to it.

This is the S2 i bought

As i said I started stripping the car down to the bare shell, the plan is to get it all sprayed before everything gets bolted on again.

After stripping the shell, it was then time to takle the first bits of rust, this meant cutting off and fitting a new print panel and front x-member

I then bought the cvh engine rebuild book and began to take apart the engine to see what was salvageable and could be used on the building of my turbo Lump

I had plenty of time to strip the rest of the rs shell down, I cant find the pictures that i took of the roof but basically all down either side of the roof sills was just rot ! the sunroof had sunk in and the rear inner arches where completely rotten, hence the re-shell

Thanks, and yes I'll try find the other pictures I think there on my old phone but the drivers side of the roof sill was rotten near enough all the way down, the sunroof glass had sunk into to roof because the tray was completely rotten, under the body kit and the rear inner arches where too far gone for repair really
