My rwd escos
thought I'd start a thread as I just got my new toy
First thing on the list was to get rid of the golf splitter and get some radiant red on the headlights and grill
It's currently running stg3 setup but had the boost turned down for running in and hasn't been set up since so at the minute I've got around 1bar of boost running through a t34.63 it does seem a bit slow compared to my old saff lol. I'll get a standard bumper and spoilers once they pop up for sale. Mean while I'm going to replace the .63 for a .48 housing and get it set up to around 1.5bar which will do for now

Will do glenn I had it up on the ramp earlier and had a good look round and it's surprising solid apart from a bodged repair to the passenger footwell which has started to go again. I'm busy this weekend so doubt I'll get anything done this week. It I'll try get it down my mates garage next week and tidy the bad bits up
My mate said he's still got the front bumper and spoilers from when he broke his escos so may have it looking proper sooner than expected

Overall I'm over the moon with it. It's exactly what I wanted as it's going to get used and used hard I didn't want a minter as if the worst happens and I have an off on a trackday I won't have totalled a 20k+ car.

Managed to get the car down my cousins garage and up on the ramp last weekend Wayne set about repairing the badly repaired floor section and I swapped the diffs over. Also found out that the centre prop bearing was completely shagged so got a new one ordered and also ordered a poly diff mount which I hope to get fitted this weekend
Also removed the inner lights from the morette's as prefer the look with the wrc kit. Once I get the original bumper and spoilers fitted I'll be fitting standard headlights
Kelly gave me a hand washing and polishing at the weekend but that meant I had to do her golf also lol

I'm not far from norwich Stu you probably seen the golf about as I travel all round Anglia in it when going to tenpin bowling tournaments it does around 50-55mpg on an average run and if driven steadily it'll do 60+ which ain't too bad considering its remapped and around 180-190bhp. When my mk1 frs was standard Kelly was all over my back bumper in it so I had to buy the focus a remap lol
I do like the front now glenn but it's got to back to standard looks

I replaced the worn prop centre bearing but still getting a rumbling when driving. Think I may of found out what it is!
Should have 2wd engine mounts but some numpty has done this. The mounts look to be 4x4 turned upside down and have plates welded to the bottom (now the top) with a stud
I think these are not as tall as the 2wd mounts and therefore causing the engine So low the gearbox is touching the anti roll bar. Also I think the mounts are'nt bodged the same and are causing the engine to sit on the piss with the rear of the gearbox kicking to the right. That's probably why it fucked the centre bearing in the prop

Also fitted my poly diff mount when I done the bearing. The old one was very sloppy and the poly has tightened the rear end up nice and it feels really planted now as before the rear felt wollowy when changing direction
