Car looks sweet mate!
I love the crystal blue ones!
How did you get the headlining in and out? Through the rear window?
Cheers Paul

Same here mate, I've been without a working cossie for nearly 6 years!
Cheers mate
It's not the tidiest one out there but it's far from a bad one!
No worries mate, I know you were busy
Cheers mate, let's hope I get it on the road for classic ford!
Not too bad cheers mate, how about you?
Yeah sorry about that, I had to scoot otherwise I'd have been walking home!
Getting nervous about driving it now! Lol!
Thanks mate, I've always wanted a crystal blue one!
When I took the headlining out of the white one, I took it out through one o the front door openings but when me and Ade fitted in the blue one, we put it in through the rear screen hole as it didn't have a screen in at the time.
Cheers mate! Makes a change for something to be simple eh?!

Been doing some more work to it over the last few days to get it drivable.
I had one of those solid alloy gearbox mounts on it but the amount of vibration it transmitted into the car was unreal! Turns out that the top of the gearbox was actually touching the tunnel causing the vibration. Swapped back to a standard mount and it was perfect. I may look into it in more detail at some stage but for the moment the standard one will do
I also rewired the rear light plugs and done away the wank standard plugs and fitted some superseal ones. I had trouble getting the brake lights to work which when testing the volt drop on the circuit traced it to high resistance in the brake light switch. All sorted now!
Had a problem getting the brakes to work which was due to a seized pump motor. Never mind I thought, I'll just buy another one. Yeah right! They're like rocking horse shit! I almost admitted defeat and fitted a 4x4 one which would mean making up all new lines which go between the abs module and pump and would also mean the motor would sit closer to the manifold which was my whole reasoning behind fitting a 2wd pump as the motor sits next to the inner wing! Eventually my mate had one knocking about and it worked perfectly so I now have brakes!
It's going for MOT tomorrow morning so fingers crossed it'll be actually on the road tomorrow!

I'm going to say yes at the moment mate!
Good stuff mate
Yeah I was shitting it especially as I realised at about halfway there that I'd left my track rod lock nuts loose!
Cheers mate!
Mate, are you ever gonna have any luck with that thing?!
She's all legal!!
Keep ya barnet on!
Nowt boring about that mate, l'll have you in your 170! Lol! :spin:
Yup!
Done about 75 now! Only the rear number plate fell off so it wasn't too tragic!

Well as already stated above, it's all on the road and legal now!
There's no major issues to sort out but a few niggly bits, got to modify (in other words, hit with a fucking great big hammer!! ) the N/S/R suspension turret as the coilover spring is rubbing on it, got a small coolant leak at the thermostat housing, refit all the lower dash bits, modify and refit the boot trims and carpets etc.
It'll get there though! Drives really well considering its not been set up or anything yet! Going in to have the geometry set up next week so should drive a lot nicer! I'll do a few more miles in it then it'll be up to Tony for mapping!
Basking in the sunshine before a wash and wax:
After a good old clean! It was minging! :
Out for a little cruise about with Ade!:
Never thought the day was ever gonna come! Lol!

I thought you'd have preferred blue being a Chelsea supporter!!
Cheers mate
No that won't be happening mate, got a little girl due in August so won't be able to anything like this again for a while!
Besides, I'm fed up working on cars all the time, just want to enjoy it now! Been nearly 6 years without a cossie
It might get the plate put on or I might stick it on my Civic, not sure yet
Cheers mate! It went through fine!
Cheers for the bits the other day mate, I'm sure I'll have a shopping list for you soon!
Thanks mate
It seemed like it would never get finished but then it kind of just, well, did! Lol!
Cheers mate
I've had a big grin on my mush most of the weekend!
It's a nice feeling knowing that it started out as nothing and is now a fully functioning and usable car!
Though I did think to myself 'I must be mental' when I unloaded it after picking up the shell 6 months ago! Lol!

Thanks mate, it's pretty tidy but not perfect. Just a nice and useable one
Thanks Glenn
It's been a long time coming but it's alive!
I've been putting my toe down a little bit and giving it a little bit of boost just to bed the rings in but keeping the revs quite low as I was advised and so far, so good! We set the actuator to open at 12 psi (that's the lowest it could go) so I wouldn't be worrying constantly about the boost gauge wanging all the way round!
We also set it a little bit rich just until it goes up to Tony to be mapped. Just want to get a few more miles under its belt, do an oil change, go over the whole car and make sure everything is still tight etc and then up to Tony!
Surprised at how tight it drives tbh, apart from the spring rubbing on the nearside rear, there's no knocks, bangs or rattles either (apart from an alternator that sounds like its got a mouse in it! Going back under warranty).

Just a couple of pics of it with the side strips fitted:
I think the side strips really finish it off nicely!
The only one we reused from the old shell was the drivers wing moulding. The other wing one was a good one that I found by chance in the drivers door pocket and all the door ones are brand new except the passenger front. I couldn't get a new one for that so I got a really nice used one from Paul at North Yorks RS Spares.
Got to work through all the niggly bits now!
