My MK4 Mondeo - rollin' on 20s!

My MK4 Mondeo - rollin' on 20s!
After selling my Focus ST I really regretted not doing a build thread for it, I thought that initially I would keep it pretty standard however things snowballed! This is what I currently have now and have already started tinkering so may as well start a project thread this time. I must be getting old as I love it so far, it's got a lot of options like sat nav, Bluetooth, heated seats, keyless push button start, front PDC sensors and factory rear spoiler which is quite rare to find on a Titanium model I am lead to believe.
Anyway, this is it a couple of days after I picked it up
I started addressing a couple of issues that I was really not happy with, mainly these!
You might be able to see in the first picture that a bit of the Titanium badge is missing, so started on the rear end with removing all badges, painting the chrome surround around the Ford badge and fitting a DMB overlay. I also did what I have done to nearly all my cars, a very light half tint on the clear section of the rear tail lights, might go a little darker yet but am happy with them for now.
Then I had a set of VW door lights in the shed, tried them for size to replace the original reflectors, and believe it or not they fitted straight in. Will wire them in to the puddle lights under the mirrors soon.
And then I thought I'd set about the front end! I purchased a Tit X Sport front valance and grille. I painted it and fitted them earlier in the pissing rain.
I have had delivered today the Sport front foglamps and the rear valance which will all need to be painted before fitting. Next up will be the sideskirts, when I can find some at a reasonable price! I've also got the front upper grille on its way, should hopefully be here by the weekend.
As for future plans, wheels will be refurbished, lower it a bit and a few cosmetic mods. It's not fast and will never will be so I'm not going to touch anything under the bonnet apart from getting it remapped to release a bit more power and some extra MPG.
Thanks for looking
Rich

Cheers guys, yes they are a really nice drive, suspension is good, although it looks quite high it is firm yet handles bumps easily. It does seem to handle very well although the 1.8 diesel is pretty underpowered and doesn't seem to encourage you to want to put your foot down. Averaging 54mpg in it though so it's not all bad.
My only gripe, and it is a big gripe, the seats are foooooooking hard so give you a numb arse. Guess I am used to the recaros in my ST which held you in but these can be like sitting on a bench.

nice one, those wheels look bloody massive lol. Did you measure how much yours actually lowered? Apparently some have sports suspension which is about 20mm lower than standard so a set of eibachs won't make a great deal of difference. Did you fit the springs yourself? If so anything i need to know about that will cause a headache?

Live the wheels in that!
I didn't find my seats bad at all. Must be my fat arse.
Can you for lower ring springs to a Mondy with the adjustable shocks?

Not even looked at how much a replacement shock is as no doubt I'd cry.

Think ford got the front end spot on with te sports kit. Looks good mate.
What does it consist of? Is it a full bumper replacement or just lower lip and grill?

Thanks Carlos! The kit is a front and rear skirt that attaches to the original bumpers, both front grilles, fog lights and sideskirts. Oh and twin exhausts! The front skirt clips into the original grill opening then 2 screws either end so thats easy, the rear skirt is bonded on and parking sensors all need rejigging etc so thats a little more difficult. Ive got the rear skirt half way painted now, getting the exhaust at the weekend so just the side skirts to go but they are frigging expensive!

They are a really nice car to be in. Mines 57 plate and not squeak or rattle from anything. Build quality is great.
Yours looks smart as dan. Enjoyed reading what you were doing when you first got it.
