RS Turbo 2.1zvh, Clutch and fly wheel... NEED HELP??
Need advice...
I need a new clutch and flywheel for my 2.1zvh its running 255bhp and 220 torque..... ive currently got an AP paddle clutch that was in when i had the 1.6 engine in but was only capable of 192 torque..... i knew it was only a matter of time before it went on me..... so i need an upgrade but not sure which brand i should be looking at????
option 1
buy an uprated AP paddle Clutch and grind down my fly wheel as its shaped like a banana at the minute, price roughly £600
option 2
have a custom made twin paddle clutch made and do the same thing with the fly wheel, price roughly £720
option 3
recondition my paddle clutch and fly wheel knowing its not gunna last, price roughly£400 (not an option really but ideal price margin)
option 4
this is where you lot can help me put a clutch and fly wheel in thats not gunna cost me an arm and leg!??? haha
I would like to put a new clutch and flywheel (not grind it down) in, but i cant justify £600-£700 to do it, but i need something that i wont have to replace in 12months time
Cheers Ben

Well you should be able to use a flywheel from a zetec 1.8 engine, with a 220mm clutch.
Flywheels should be easy enough to obtain then get it skimmed, then you just need the clutch. This may help reduce costs.
Also avoid a firm called techniclutch like the plague

Part of the reason I want to but an uprated clutch in is that I'm hoping to do the ecu next year n should be pushing 350-360bhp safely so I could do to make sure the clutch is done now rather than paying twice, but I just want her back on the road ;-(

PassionFord Post Whore!!
I would suggest having a search on here or in the rs turbo section, or speak to someone like matt lewis motorsport or burton power or some tuners, see what they advise.

If you going for that power, change the box now.

There's a place called CGS Motorsport or summat like that in Leeds that will make you a clutch for a lot less than the prices you quoted. I got a 5 paddle unstrung plate for about 70 quid
