Default 1985 Mk2 XR2 saved by me

Hi guys and welcome to my slow project sorry it's slow but what with a new baby 14 weeks old things have slowed down but enjoy anyway.

Cut a long story short = Bought ebay £500 standing for 15 years on drive fathers car daughter couldn't get rid after his death 2 owners from new her and dad no history with car and only 1 key took a massive risk drove off owning it,No tax but some M.O.T first pics once home

Done a complete service to engine oil + gaskets/belts,timing belt, water pump, fuel filter/pump, camshaft followers, steam sills the lot

Time went on so bought the following

capri pepperpots
2x fiesta Recaro seats
plasti dip dumpers
new passenger wing + sprayed
new lights all round
just waiting on a set of rear koni adjustable shocks
new tail gate
2x doors with electric windows upgrade
Metal retro number plates
few stickers

Still needs alot of TLC but what with funds low this is what she looks like at this moment in time

Great seeing an xr2 being brought back to it's former glory. Keen to see how this turns out.

My parents had a white mk2 xr2 but on f plate for about 5 years (I was aged 4-9) so kinda grew up with it.

Agree with the above about knocking on the girls door, would be a nice tribute to the old guy.

Is it me or does the drivers door/front wing look misaligned?
Looks great now though!

I love XR2's - I had a 'D' plate mercury grey one and it's the one car that I've owned I'd take back in a heartbeat.

Lovely to see one restored to her former glory.

Been a fair few months since i have been online just thought i would share final pics of my car,

Since pics have taken it now stands with tow eye cover, original ford badges front and back which cost an arm and i have original head light covers from fords never been fitted still in original box- don't even go there on the price lol

Sorned until April to see you all hopefully at some point over the next few months.
