Default xr3 project ,pics

hi all here are some pics of my latest project a 82 4speed xr3 with 4 owners from new and 101thou. work done so far, repairs to o/s floor, new rear arches, new o/s sill, new o/s door, new rear lower corners, repair to rear panel, work left inner sill n/s,front wings and front panel, also n/s sill then respray and overhaul of brakes and bushes etc i if anyone knows of any history would love to know cheers









on the back of the low loader the day i picked it up

thanks, yeah its a pretty good base i just want on the road in a couple of months then in a few years would like to do a full nut n bolt resto.

hi all more work done getting there slowly just put on new crossmember and front panel new wing and inner/outter sill also small repair to inner to wing and floor here are some pics

nearly done car know 2packed then 400 flated then 600 and finally wet n dry 800 long process but as its silver didnt want to take any chances.

All painted looks great just got to rebuild and paint wheels and detail engine,will update soon cheers

nearly complete should all be finished nextweek will add more pics then cheers. engine and wheels have been painted and interior put back in

Very nice looks like you have done some fantastic work.
One question,is that a webasto roof ? I have never in my life seen one on a XR3 or 3i and my old man owned at least 20 of them.Looks cool.
Its one car I would always like to own again

Yep it's got a britax sliding sunroof,did some digging and been told that it was a optional extra available at the ford dealership at the time,but got to say at first I wasn't fussed but its grown on me and can't wait till the summer to use it

Looking very nice pal, I have an 82 xr3 in strato silver also, it's in a million pieces but looking at ure pics may have just given me the kick up the arse I needed to spend some time on it again
