update. yay. just welding updates for a while now though, anyway, did the outer transmission tunnel, and the inner tunnel and floor.
I love this ^^
then i saw an oil spill pattern on the floor, so the artist in me came out
inner and outer now done
then the floor next to it
then the front coin slots etc
and i then got everything ground off, now im gonna sand blast the inside of the rail, slap loads of primer and paint in it, then weld it all up, aswell as changing the captive nuts, there fuked.
comments welcome as always

Jesus! Fair enough really, I think road rallying is up shit creek! Loads of talk about changing a lot of rules to try and slow the sport down, a lot of people are fed up with 200+bhp pintos and the like.

yeah, i decided since they seem to be killing it off i might as well restore it to a really good standard, and keep its a weekend toy. its a dieing sport

You don`t need big power to road rallying just a good navigater!! I`ve always done reasonably well with a sierra with not much power (pinto and 2.3 v6). but then again I only do it for the fun of it!! Mind you it might change when my 2.3 16v goes back in!! Car looks well keep up the good work.

cheers, and yeah, most of the work is navigation and you dont need a stunningly fast car to have fun, just something nippy. but since time to the second is no longer used as msa banned it [ i think?], they seem to slowly be killing it. and cheers, shes gettin there

If they do kill it off it would be a real shame. If they do i will stick a really big turbo on it and use it for drifting and going to the shops sideways cos being sideways is what its for!!!!!

passenger floor welded up, next is the sill. kaching!!!!!!!
cut the rot out, sand blasted in the leg, new captive nut in, plate butt welded in in two stages. Then floor overlapped for strength and i want another sierra now, i love em, better start saving
love the weather
strengthening bar so the jacking point doesnt crush up like it was before.
before:
after:
done:
and afew pics i saw, need to scan them up soon
@mk22door, he originally wanted to strip it and scrap it, but the memories that come with this car are way too sentimental, one of the only reasons i am keeping it tbh.

Update for you all, i have finally started restoring all the parts that were on the car, so today when i got home from school i sand blasted the accelerator pedal and the starter motor, if it still works, , and theres loads more to go.and i ordered a few parts for it too i got a spotlamp wiring kit, twin air horns, and washer bottle kit so i can do a custom set up and have it spray off the wipers themselves. i will have pictures up tomorrow, and hopefull have a plastic and glass renovation kits for the lights, cheers for all the posotive comments

an update, this weekend i inspected the drivers footwell. worse than the passengers.saturday was a horrible day removing the rot carefully but today, i sandblasted inside the leg, primed it with red oxide, then i welded a patch next to the jacking point, then heated the jacking point and bent it out. the i removed the sunroof, or more like ripped it out. and finally blew every last nook and cranny to get all the sand removed.
some rot
some weight loss from inside the chassis leg... preston rocks for the road rally fans
cut the rot out
bastard cover ripped
upside down
comments welcome
