Sounds good mate. does harvey have to take it to a 2.2 to get 700bhp or is it for some other reason ie better to drive with that power. what gets it up to 2.2 rods and pistons and what size does the block get bord to?

be nice to see some pics mate

Through choice, done 2.0 700bhp ages back

The torque and drivability of the 2.2 race engines are great

my last engine was 680 bhp on a 2lt it came to a sorry end down to bad fuel,
after talkin to harvey ref his own engine i decide to go 2.2 as it gives me more flb so i have more power on tap faster / lower down the revs.

spec is 2.2lt crank, pistons, rods, linnered block, nick wapples head , harvey gibbs spec cams, harvey gibbs spec inlet, swedish exhaust manifold, harvey gibbs spec turbo , t6 ecu , and all the other little bits and bobs to make it all happen.

should have my new engine next week when harvey home from his jollys

thanks steven

Very nice mate. I knew you could get 700bhp from a 2.0 as ive seen it before. The main reason for asking was to see if it was a better engine to build like easyer to make power and more drivable engine to have with that power. With that size engine would it be nicer to drive on the road.
Do you have to change the crank size to get 2.2

thanks

i didnt go for a wrc rear end mark as it was a more or less straight fit up with the 93 wide track rear end, where to go wrc cradle the rear turrets need modded ect.
domanic said that a good grpa set up was fine for track days.

how ever on my jwrc fiesta cosworth build i have went for full wrc rear end , all fabb work to the fiesta is all done by gordon vincent, i have not got the shell home yet so dont have any photos at the moment.

thanks steven

Yes with a tall block you an use standard bore with a big crank and get good rod angle, but its better to use a smaller crank with bigger bore and have a even better rod angle
