Default Rwd mk 4 escort bonus!

Been wanting 2 make my escort bonus rwd for somn timwe now, it was a 1.8 zvh turbo on mfi loved it 2 bit and it never gave me hasle (apart from the od gearbox lol) Then i came in to a bit of money and decided 2 spend a bit on it, made it 2.0 zvh with megasquirt, water injection ect, and it was never the same lol. So now i decided 2 bite the bullet and make it rwd as ive wantd 2 for ages.

only pic i can fine b4 i startd.

And so the fun begins.

All braced up, cutting started!

Most of the floor and flitches cut out, clean up and welding the couple of small bits that needed doing.

Whilst doing this i starts on the sierra.

Back 2 the escort.

Now the sierra floor pan and flitches needs preping 2 fit in the escort as you all know.

Bit of help off me m8, and me dad.

Then i made a jig the width of the escort inner floor, 2 fold the floor to sill on the sierra.

Bit more help from dad.

Once we were happy with the sierra floor pan it was offerd up for final fetlin and triming up.

Once we were happy it was in place, out comes the welder and it was tacked in place then welded up.

And that is prety much as it stands at the moment. I will keep it updated now it looks like i will finish it lol.

My mate broke hes turbo cabby that just happend 2 have the best rear inner arches ive ever seen and as mine i rottern, so how could i say no?

Just want 2 say a quick thanks 2 Beef 4 hes over the phone advise. Thanks m8y.

Any comments welcome, good or bad.

Right then, small update. i havent done a lot 2 her over the last few weeks. Basicly all i have done is welded down the inside of the front arces and removed the rear chassis rails from the sierra.

Then i startd 2 remove the rails from the rear of the sierra, NOT FUN!

getting there slowly.

Question for beef and dobermann, how did you get the shape of the escort bulk head onto the sierra batt tray / heaterbox pannel?

Thanks Rob.

Basically, the Sierra floor is the depth of the cross member box section higher than the Escort floor.
I tried it with mine mate and wasted a lot of time on it. Have a look at my conversion, the pics explain all.

P.S. keep up the good work
