Default Building a Focus WRC in the states.

Hello everyone,
I'm stateside and am looking for some help on coming up with a plan for building a WRC Focus over here. A few questions...

-Where would the best place be to get a 600HP Cosworth YB?
-Who would be the best company to go with for a sequential gearbox, that accepts paddle shifters, and a transfer case + differentials?
-What would be the best suspension set-up to go with?
-Does anyone know how to get in touch with M-Sport to get their prices on the WRC body kit.
-This will be a road going car with a full interior as well. Being built mostly for show, weekend driving, and occasional drag strip use.

Here is the car we will be starting with: (excuse the yellow brake calipers, that has been corrected)

any help is much appreciated.

Sounds a tasty project.

PM J1mbo (red escort in signature) regarding your Engine and spec.

Who will be fabricating the engine mount, floor pan etc?

Thanks! I want it to be a great example of a very complete hot hatch.

Thanks for the contact. Piper Motorsport will be doing pretty much all of the custom fabrication.
They built this: http://pipermotorsport.com/moredetail.asp?id=146
An E30 M3 with an M6 V10. scroll through the pages, it's intense.

Harvey Gibbs (SCS) or Julian Godfrey.

Bara, Quaife, FFD, M-Sport for ex parts maybe.

Proflex

-Does anyone know how to get in touch with M-Sport to get their prices on the WRC body kit.

Check their website out or there are a few replica kits knocking about companies in the U.K.

Just my opinion on the above. But I hope you have deep pockets

Good luck

Oh, darn. I've heard the pumaspeed doesn't have good fit and finish.

I've heard of Harvey Gibbs, I'll send SCS an email. As far as suspension goes, I was looking more along the lines of where to source subframes that would work. Unless Proflex has a kit for that??
I'd rather not go with something fiberglass on the body for fit and finish reasons.

My pockets might as well be non-existant, however I will be doing this with my father, who seems to have wells for pockets.

most people over here use a sierra floor pan so your best starting with a Merkur donor vehicle for the basic floor pan and rear set up mate

the xr4ti? the floor pan changed the last two years it was sold here, i'm guessing i'd have to go for those years. though the floor pan changes might be custom fabricated by piper motorsport

It was a standard Sierra Cosworth rear beam that I refubed with a Quaife ATB rear diff. Once I had fitted it to the car it sat nicely on AVO Coilovers. I did need spacers with the wheels though as the Focus is a fair bit wider. The fire was catastrophic from the donar cars point of view and the engine was rebuilt for this project. Chris

Hey everyone.....

Looks like this project is falling through... my dad has lost a few bids at work. Nothing too serious but enough to put the project on hold. The only possibility of it starting soon is if some land he has for sale sells. Supposedly he has a pretty interested buyer... but we'll see what happens.

Well if you do get round to building this car my offer still stands on my RS kit. You can get hold of me on FJ an FF.
