Default My on going Ghiax 4x4 rebuild from ground up(Ready for engine)

Hello folks Hows the form As in the title im posting up a few bits and bobs of my on going project from september time last year

Just a little bit about the car itself now The model of the car is a Ghia x 4x4 which comes complete with with the full 4x4 set up and a 2 litre twincam (dohc) engine leather seats and all the other bells and whistles

The car itself was brought out of england by a ford dealer Kennedy ford now lindsay ford The car now has 84800 miles on the clock and i am now the 4th owner of the car

It made an appearance at most of the northern ireland shows last year but took it off the road due to the failure of the front diff

So without further ado i introduce u to the car i call my baby The ghia x 4x4

Hope u enjoy the pics folks

Comments and opinions welcome

Ok folks just a small update on what has went on the past few days

Got the car up and the rear beam out

Then got to work on the underseal and unearthed a few horrors truth be told

Plans for the next few weeks is finish stripping the underseal and get her sandblasted and wave goodbye to the surface rust

I did indeed mate thanks for the possitive comment from both urself and every1 else

Always was convinced the wax oil was there to hide something and when i chased up the previous owner of the car it was said that the car was parked up in a field for a few months

By doing what ive done over the past year with her it has shown that the best of cars can deteriate slightly with age lol but now i know exactly what i hav as i was there chipping in with the work every step of the way and hav personalised a few bits and bobs to suite myself

Folks sorry about the delay in getting updates on the thread

As said in the intro the work was carried out last year and after the worst weather last year which led to many sleepless nites due to gale force winds blowing

The progress from the last update is as follows

The car lifted higher off the ground and well supported with steel wheels

Spripped the running gear etc out of her (some very nervous moments i can tell ya)

Got the rest of the seal of the floor and then waited for the sand blaster to come on the date booked

Was a lot of hard work but it has all paid dividends in the long run As the say no pain No glory lol

Thanks for all the possitive comments folks We got her up with a trolly jack

It was a slow job up at the front steadied with rims up at the back steadied so on and so forth Thank god i didnt smoke a 20 pack would not hav lasted long that day lol

The car in all honesty only got a little squirt here and there she was not abused cause the only time i more or less had her out was to and from shows but on the rollers she was throwing out 120 bhp She had a fairly decent lift dont get me wrong like but i apologise for not bein able to help ya out in that end mate

Again thanks for the comments More progress pics to follow soon

Ok folks just a little update here

Once again thanks for all the positive comments so far

Got the car sandblasted at the start of the week could not hav picked a better day for the job the fella came down first thing and was away again within 4 hours

We (myself and cossie09 Big thanks to him by the way) saeled her with red oxcide as soon as the tools were left down to prevent the damp getting in to undo all my hard work

Let the work commence

Now the sealers

This sealer has a 25 year corrosion warrenty on it

The plans is for the floor to be sprayed the same colour as the car

Its also been sprayed with stone chip protection cant be to careful when it comes to the likes of this

same blater as i use and helmet looks like a clemco pot i see you didnt stip the front that well that because of the rubber underseal ud have been better to scrape that or burn it first then the blaster would of riped that off
