XR2 Turbo Rebuilt at last!
Well it's been a while now but at last the Fiesta has been re-built, and may I say quicker than ever before!
First of all before the new bits went on it was given a little freshen up first of all due to it sighting in the garage form a few years. Nothing major just a wee lick of paint on the floor inside and under the bonnet too while the engine bay was empty to get it looking fresh as the plan is just too get it all up and running without any problems with all the new bits then re-shell it over the winter.
So it went from this-
To this-
Next up was the engine, the last engine was a 1.9cvh tall black, low comp pistons, cam, chip, stainless and ran 190bhp@the wheels at AVA untill it decided to chuck a rod through the block.
Well now it's had a completed overhaul under the engine bay with all these being new,
It's running a 2.1zvh, Arrow Steel Rods, JE Low Comp Pistons, Fully lightened and balanced, Big valve head with a newman cam, Piper Vernier pulley, AVA Management, Greens, T38, 3'' Stainless from the Turbo back, GRS Cooler and has just been mapped at 289bhp@the wheels at AVA.
It's been updgraded to run to fuel pumps with a swirl pot set up also.
Gearbox wise we, it's still the previous box which is a straight cut Quaife box!
Suspension has been upgraded to LEDA Coilover, and the front TCA''s have been modified by AVA so the are fully adjustable for camber and caster. Will get a few pics up shortly.
And the brakes have been upgraded to Cossie calipers on the front with RS2000 288mm discs.
Have had it out a few times now but have had a few teething problems with the oil breather but that seems to be on the way to being solved. And a new alloy radiator will be getting purchased. Apart from that just now a case of starting to try different settings with the suspension the re-shelling it over the winter.
Well chuffed with the way it goes and handles though so far!
