Ford Ka Upgrade help! Wanting RCL and Electric Windows
As above really. I'm personally not super experienced with working on cars but I'd say I'm technically/mechanically minded and have a dad who has works on various cars all his life aswell as doing practically all the wiring in our house. So him plus the internet (youtube) and possibly a haynes manual aswell as practically every tool you can think of will be at my disposal.
I want to add aftermarket remote central locking and electric windows to my newly purchased used ford ka.
It is a standard model 02 plate, 74k miles great condition with full service history etc which I paid £1250 for so in my opinion (tell me if I'm wrong), I feel it's worth adding these few bits n pieces because it'll be more enjoyable to drive and will be more secure (forever forgetting to tell passengers to lock their door lol)
So far I have found this kit for the RCL
http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/Remote-Central...item53d9ccec14
And this
http://www.electricwindowsdirect.co....=Front&s5=Left
or this
http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/Car-Van-Univer...item5d26a4657b
for the electric windows
There are a couple of other bits n bobs I'd like to do to the car (sort out the tiny spots of rust before they grow, electric mirrors and an alarm) but overall the only thing that actually needs doing is that the sills need welding at some point cause they're getting a little bit rusty.
So what do you think? Worth doing...not worth doing. Is there something I've not considered etc...
I'm a Uni student so once we finish for summer I have a 3month break where I will only work part time meaning time shouldn't be an issue.

Just too add, I looked through the past MOT's online and it has had
Advisory '06
Front both sides Macpherson strut has slight movement at the upper attachment (2.5.A.1c)
Advisory '08
Nearside Front Macpherson strut has slight movement at the upper attachment (2.5.A.1c)
Offside Front Macpherson strut has slight movement at the upper attachment (2.5.A.1c)
It's never failed on it, and I don't have the paper work to hand to check if it's been fixed. But if it hasn't then is it this part that I have to replace...

I'll not be doing that myself but I have a mechanic friend who can do it for me if I take him the parts to do it.
