2000hp Twin Turbo Ford 4.6L 32V V8 in the build in Australia
hey guys, for the last year or so i have had a little car in the making, at the moment it is a dedicated drag car, however i have made the engine as streetable as possible (12V battery and alternator, wet sump) i am building a 4.6 later this year which should have closer to 2500hp. so i will put this engine in a street car after i have raced it a bit and built the new engine. i haven't decided yet if this will go into an Australian Ford Falcon FG, a 98-04 Mustang or a 1969 Ford Capri either one will make a nice street/strip car. at the moment it's in a full tube chassis Ford powered 1991 Dodge Daytona (please don't kill me about that i got a very good deal on it, the street car will definitely be a Ford and i plan on changing the shell on this to a Mustang or even buying a new full tube chassised roller which will also be Ford. it has a 1997 4.6L Ford Mustang Cobra 32V Quad Cam V8 in it with the twin port heads, 2 x Garrett GT42R 74mm turbo's, 2 x TurboSmart Pro-Gate 50 WasteGates, 2 x TurboSmart Race Port Blow off Valves, Comp Cams, factory Ford Cobra Crasnkshaft (has been cryo-treated) and Block, custom Diamond Pistons, custom Carrillo Rods, Motec M800 ECU, Motec E888, MOTEC CDI, CDI Marine Coils, Mark Williams 40-spline 9.5'' Diff, Mark Williams Carbon Fibre Driveshaft, Romac 4-Link Floater Rear End, Black or Charcoal Weld Racing Double Beadlock rims, 28'' x 4.5'' front with 33.5'' x 17'' GoodYear Slicks, 2800hp 2-Speed Auto PowerGlide Gearbox, 10'' Neal Chance Bolt Together Torque Converter, 16 x Injector Dynamics 2000cc injectors, Accufab 90mm Throttle Body, Accufab Clamshell Clamps, Hogan's Racing Intake Manifold (different setup to what u normally see manifold wise air comes in at the bottom, the new Ford Coyote engine is like this also), Aeroquip Kevlar/Nomex Hoses, SpeedFlow Shadow series fittings, Aeromotive Fuel Pump & Regulator, Moroso 4-Vane Vacuum Pump, 8 x EGT probes, Dual NTK Lambda Sensors, B&M Stealth Pro Bandit Shifter, 2 x Simpson 10ft chutes. All the fab work has been done by GrooveRyder Fabrications. we are confident of 16-1700hp at around 30-35psi and then stepping it up to 40psi which should see close to 2000hp on Methanol. hopefully we will run low 7's and working to high 6's with the drag car and low 8's to high 7's when we put it in the street car. should be out mid-May testing i have added a few pics, but if your interested you can see pretty much the whole build at http://s630.photobucket.com/albums/uu22/mali_prasac/

thanx guys.
i was going to run an intercooler as it was going to be on C16. but with methanol there is no need for an intercooler, the extra heat in there helps the methanol burn. incase i do need an intercooler we have worked out something, but it should be fine. on the street car it will be intercooled. no times at the moment we haven't run it, have to screw the engine together and do the electricals. it should do 6.80's@210mph. it's only a very small wheelbase so i wouldn't expect much quicker than 6.50-6.60's even with the new 2500hp engine.

the fabricator is a one-stop shop he can do everything, so i didn't have to take it from 1 place to the next
small tyres
r2d2 wanted to come also
he promised to kill me if i show anyone the inside of the fuel tank haha, its pretty tricky inside
the exhaust housings have been ceramic coated in satin black, this retains the heat which will help boost and spooling. the intake pipe has got a satin black heat dispersant in it which expels the heat and stays nice and cool

should be on the engine dyno mid-may, then will strip it down again check it, so should be out late May-early June, will start off on low boost 15psi or so, should still give us close to 900-1000hp then work up from there, the car is brand new so we don't know what it can do, but we are confident it will perform well.

Sydney i think will be a mecca of big V8 turbo cars soon. i plan on taking it up and down the east coast, up to Willowbank and down to Calder but main racing at WSID. GrooveRyder Fabrications www.grooveryder.com.au does absolutely crazy work, he does it all, has worked on some decent cars like MrMad, Gas Motorsports (after they crashed it) he can do a full tube chassis car down to the smallest little bracket. he is a busy guy, i was booked in for early-March and didn't get in till start of June.

Its over in the UK mate, will find you a picture as I am sure you will like it.
Cage was tagged to 7.5, shame really as engine can produce some huge numbers ! Either way thats a LOT faster than he is normally used to from his Vette but I bet he eventually gets the urge to go faster lol
What EGT logger do you use ? I went and helped setup his tonight which is a Altronics one and I was quite dissapointed with the software but then it does what it needs to I guess !

Fantastic work. Was the inlet made by your fabricator as well? Any pic's of the inside?
Whats the manifold made from? Looks like 1.6mm/16 gauge 316. Not good for a road car. Probably fine for drag though.

the manifold is made from 304 1.6mm. the inlet was made by Hogan's, it's a special design i wasn't even allowed to get pics of it, i had to look inside when i got it. the designe has been made so each runner flows exactly the same as the next.

hey guys, for the last year or so i have had a little car in the making, at the moment it is a dedicated drag car, however i have made the engine as streetable as possible (12V battery and alternator, wet sump) i am building a 4.6 later this year which should have closer to 2500hp. so i will put this engine in a street car after i have raced it a bit and built the new engine. i haven't decided yet if this will go into an Australian Ford Falcon FG, a 98-04 Mustang or a 1969 Ford Capri either one will make a nice street/strip car. at the moment it's in a full tube chassis Ford powered 1991 Dodge Daytona (please don't kill me about that i got a very good deal on it, the street car will definitely be a Ford and i plan on changing the shell on this to a Mustang or even buying a new full tube chassised roller which will also be Ford. it has a 1997 4.6L Ford Mustang Cobra 32V Quad Cam V8 in it with the twin port heads, 2 x Garrett GT42R 74mm turbo's, 2 x TurboSmart Pro-Gate 50 WasteGates, 2 x TurboSmart Race Port Blow off Valves, Comp Cams, factory Ford Cobra Crasnkshaft (has been cryo-treated) and Block, custom Diamond Pistons, custom Carrillo Rods, Motec M800 ECU, Motec E888, MOTEC CDI, CDI Marine Coils, Mark Williams 40-spline 9.5'' Diff, Mark Williams Carbon Fibre Driveshaft, Romac 4-Link Floater Rear End, Black or Charcoal Weld Racing Double Beadlock rims, 28'' x 4.5'' front with 33.5'' x 17'' GoodYear Slicks, 2800hp 2-Speed Auto PowerGlide Gearbox, 10'' Neal Chance Bolt Together Torque Converter, 16 x Injector Dynamics 2000cc injectors, Accufab 90mm Throttle Body, Accufab Clamshell Clamps, Hogan's Racing Intake Manifold (different setup to what u normally see manifold wise air comes in at the bottom, the new Ford Coyote engine is like this also), Aeroquip Kevlar/Nomex Hoses, SpeedFlow Shadow series fittings, Aeromotive Fuel Pump & Regulator, Moroso 4-Vane Vacuum Pump, 8 x EGT probes, Dual NTK Lambda Sensors, B&M Stealth Pro Bandit Shifter, 2 x Simpson 10ft chutes.
Nice engine still.

Johnny that Camaro looks and sounds great mate, alot more beefy than the 4.6 mate
gtprototyp the engines are popular in the US i doubt u will find many on methanol. i don't think Sean Hyland has made anything that powerful maybe 1500-1800hp. the Accufab team make well over 2000hp and from what i have heard Sean and the guys from Accufab (John) parted ways many years ago, i won't go into detail why.

I'll try and get some videos of it running on sunday, being that he is new to that type of car he will only spend the day getting his license which atleast means he has to do a 8 sec pass I believe though so should get to hear it at full chat.
I'm not sure who is more excited me or him, although he has a good reason to be nervous with the amount of money he has invested in it !
