My MK 2 XR2 restoration
After many years of being a Subaru owner, I decided it was time to go back to my roots, being an old school ford boy.
So I decided to buy a MK2 XR2 that needed restoring before it was passed it.
Partial striped the car and inspected it, found that it needed some welding, but not too much, so the car was pretty solid to begin with.
I then did all the body repairs and the fully repainted the car at night and weekend, I also striped the engine bay and repainted it as well.
The interior was a bit of a mess, so sorted that out.
Had the pepper pots sandblasted and then I repainted them.
Then put the car back together.
Most of the money spent was spent on putting it back to its original state, people over the years had changed quite a few things like the lights, indicators etc so I wanted to put it back to original.
I am a new member.
Here are the pics
The wife has been running the car for a few months now and running sweet as a nut, we can not believe the interest we have had in the car, people stopping us all the time making us offers for the car unto 3k for it we also have a glove box full of numbers to ring when we decide to sell it.
So I have decided to restore another ford I have bought an Escort MK3 Cabriolet in white, with RS kit and RS wheels and recaro trim, needs restoring and a white hood adding like the SE. So I will be posting another thread soon with details and pics.

Thanks for all your comments, it seems like it was a quick turnaroud as I posted it all at once, it actually took me four weeks of weekends and late nights.
I did get a towing eye cover after much searching.
Well have started on the MK3 cabriolet today and will start another thread with pics once I can get them loaded on.
