Right thought i would put a quick post up of my project, not going to put all the pics up 2nite as there is quite a lot of them Anyway while im here, will introduce myself. Im dan i live just outside of bath in wiltshire. This is my 4th ford so far first was a mk1 xr2, then mk6 1.8 si escort, followed by an immaculate mk5 rs2000 and sold that due to being too nice to drive and bought this car instead. Plans with this car are to Bring it into this age a bit more and make it more driveable so i can use it daily for work. Basicaly plans are 2l zetec, 5 speed type 9, capri front suspension, escort world cup crossmember, 5 link rear end to get rid of the horrid leaf springs. Right onwards with the pics as i picked it up, i picked the car up for £400 locally, has 38k on the clocks with 3 owners i think, was a 1.1 with a 3 speed gearbox before i started. If you want to know anything more then just ask
When i have more time i will put a lot more pics from so far in the project
Cheers Dan

i love the garage hows the baby doing neil? not seen you over at your parents in ages. Right then some more pics as photobucket is playing today.
Got my machinest at work to knock up a few bushes for the 4 link set up
And the rose joints for them, cheap ones for now to make sure everything works as it should, My other half arranged them neatly for me
105 axle in place on the old springs to check the brakes etc all fit as they should
And general pic of it sat on my pugs track wheels
Headlining and glass coming out, think is the job i hated doing the most so far on my car. Really did not want to drop it

More cutting to the bulkhead to fit the inlet manifold
Fudge collared me into buying an water manifold at the same time as him for his 3dr in teh hope of getting them cheaper, turns out that tactic doesnt work So more cutting to get the water manifold and exhaust manifold in
Started on the link bars for the rear axle and also made some mounting plates
Roughly made a bit of tunnel up as well just to pass some time at work one friday afternoon

Went on a bit of a buying spree to try and get some enthusiasm back and got these items
Then back onto the rear axle, took it into work and tacked the 4 link mounts in place
And back home that evening to offer it up with 4 links held up on a jack to get some vision of what it will look like
Another quiet friday afternoon at work ment i made some mounts for the shell

Final update for the minute as its too cold to go outside
shell mounts temporarily bolted on for the minute
And axle bolted on
Few general shots of it sat on the ground to try and get the height right, also trying different wheels on from my workmates mk1 escort
I need to make a panhard road up next and then decide if i can use the coilovers i have bought, if not i will put them on the rear of my pug and buy some new ones. Once the rear suspension is all working as it should i will move back to the tunnel and get all that fabricated, i need to get hold of an appropriate starter motor as well. Still a massively long way to go with it yet
Anyway hope ive not bored you all too much, update after xmas i think when i will hopefully take the car into work for a weekend of effort

Happily retired
Blimey the 100E brings back memories owned one of these in 1963.
1172cc sidevalve & 3 forward gears.
I wish you well with this project, it sure is going to be a lot quicker than my old girl which mustered less than 40 horses .

been a while since an update so here goes. bought some compression struts and tried them for size, due to nothing really being available for the 100e i am having to modify mk1/1 escort stuff really
Also bought a watts link very cheaply, need to make some new mounts for it
Made a few little bits to start boxing the bulkhead back in again, Card template first off then make in metal
And the whole lot together
Have been measuring up for plates as well this morning and thinking a bit more about the bulkhead, need to make a access hole in it to get to the gearbox bolts and thermostat bolts
Thats all for now cheers Dan

have made use of my day off work by going to work haha. Thankfully it was spent doing stuff for my 100e. Have re-done some mounts for the watts link as the ones that came with it were no good really, easier to make new ones then modify them to fit. so heres some pics
