crystal blue cos (done 3.07.08)
well after spending thousands on my mk5 rs2000 track car and still not being built i lost interest in her and i decided it was time to go which involved me breaking it all back down and selling it off keeping a few trick bits of course for my next project after looking around i managed to find another crystal blue sapphire cosworth and after checking it out i was happy to take her on.
2 miles later i fill her up with fuel ready for the 130miles back home and gets on the open road and there was a real bad fuel smell............. so i pulls over to have a quick word with my mum following to see fuel fucking everywhere under the car so she came home on an AA truck (6 weeks ago now) and i thought as its broke i better start taking it apart to clean it up and built it to a better spec (it was standard) my plan was to run about 300bhp and track it but that went out the window in the first week
its already gone ott so here some pics ect
oh yeah it did come with some nasty wheels
nothing a bit of black paint cant sort out and when they have a set of proper wet tyres on i wont care
I striped it out the first day it was here to find the floor and sills ect in near perfect condition and when i dropped the tank out the rear chassis rails ect was mint too
the engine bay was boring as you can see
but its getting very interesting now
i have loads of bits to get but my nice new painted up rocker cover will be on her soon
heres a one of my gauge holders with push button start which got my famous black paint on it
oh i got a incar boot release from an old late spec scrapper sapph so i could lose the boot lock and debadge it but i hit a big problem once the badges came off some fucking dick painted the boot and masked the badges up
spec so far is
T4 turbo
light blue injectors
grpA head gasket
standard and its original 2wd engine bored to .50 (until it breaks lol)
rs500 air box (thanks rapid cossie)
3ins mongoose exhaust
rs500 baileys dump valve
6 paddle AP clutch
909 tarmac spec coilovers front and rear (500/200 front 350/130 rear)
cobra imola2 bucket seats
3 sets of 17ins wheels (road/slicks/wets)
loads of other bits and pieces to add as and when i can afford it as i`m currently out of work

Good to see ya last night mate, I'm liking that rocker cover
pmsl about the boot badge, fancy masking around it

well i went to do some work on the car today but ended up not as usual
went to fit my grpA pump and filter but the rubbers that hold the bracket down have all busted and have no way of bodging it up so thats one job fucked up
then my camshaft oil seals havent arrived so it pointless me doing the cambelt i could have had the car running today but now its another wait
one thing i did do is get my exhaust fitted up plus i have taken the rear numberplate surround off......... what do you think???

shes another step closer to being sorted this weekend after my cam oil seals turned up durring the week
yesterday the weather wasnt lovely but it wasnt raining so the job was on, I took the cam cover off ready for my painted one (cunt glued the gasket on which took 10 minutes to clean off replaced the cam oil seals, put on new half moon seals and a ford cam cover gasket and put on the new cover, while that was going on i also painted my pulleys (black of course ) and clean up and few more bits and fitted a new cambelt and a tensioner i had, then with that job done i could then put the new alternator belts on and power steering belt.
heres the pics i`m in love with my cam cover

john i need an intercooler, t4 actuator bracket, 3 bar map sensor, chip from stu to run my spec and a L6 ecu and then a few silly bits and pieces mate
i have got a couple of weeks work now so hopefully i`ll have some coin to spend on sorting bits pretty soon.
oh yeah i bought a new runaround, it was going to be that mk1 fiesta i spoke about at the pub meet but i got fucked over so i got an e30 320i instead

small updates, i managed to find a set of 3 bobbins for the fuel pump bracket, they are not the same size (slightly bigger) but fit all the same.
they are actually vauxhall pump bobbins but by drilling the holes out a bit they fit and do the job fine
also i have fitted the gauges into the dash and routed them throught the bulkhead nicely but i havent got the right adapters to fit the engine ect yet
