Harvey's Ex Grp A track-day car - minor update 29-Feb-2008
Not sure on the engine spec, as he keeps changing his mind
.
But it will be between 480 and 580bhp
.
Transmission is FFD 6-speed dog box.
Note roller-bearing mounted steering rack to convert LHD rack (allowing the works spec big diff on the front) to right hand drive
.
Car will weigh 1200kg MAX and he has told me that he is going to wipe the floor with me
.
Proper Grp A rear beam:
Nine inch rear diff:
Grp A crossmember:
Carbon fibre rear WRC spoiler:
This will have it's main debut at Croft
.

Mike, why don`t you use a group a rear beam like that? Any disadvantages compared to the modified ones? much work fitting them to roadcars?

Because they are still limited to 9° due to their design and homologation rules. The ones that Ahmed does have no such limitations and so are even better at 6°, but you can only do this with a standard round beam, you can't get the square ones any better than 9° (although that is a million times better than the 18° of the originals).

So why is he bothering with the grp A item.? What are the other benefits apart from it looking really trick. is it wider, lighter, all of the above?
Apart from that.......hubba hubba hubba
