S2 RS TURBO RESTO DOORS,SHELL & KIT PAINTED (25/06/2007
Started a full restoration on my RST a couple of months back but realised that i dont have the spare time to carry out the work myself so palmed the job off to my mate Paul so should be done just after christmas
Didnt take any pics before i started stripping it down so here's a couple of pics of the work thats been done so far.
New boost hoses, still need to order ancilleries and coolant hoses.
After a few bits of welding were done the shell was put on the roll-over frame and the underneath was first cleaned up, scraped all the old shitty underseal off. Then whole underneath was sprayed with red oxide primer, then stone-chipped in half way, then 2k primed.
Then painted with 2 coats of 2k black Well pleased with the end result, what you guys think?
This is how it stands at the minute, full new front end including 2 new wings, new front panel and new cross-member all genuine ford. The new bonnet i got is'nt a genuine ford one as i have been finding it hard to source one so will stick with this one till one pops up on ebay or something. All the pics so far have been taken on camera phone so a couple might look a bit crap

Forgot to mention all the work is being carried out by S1 John's brother Paul. You may have seen some of his work before as he has given a couple of S1's similar treatment

A coupleof pics of the work Paul got done yesterday
Started prepping the engine bay ready for primer, needed welding by the fuse box. Battery tray has been done not so long ago and is still mint so that just needed blending in properly. Front end should be primer next week as long as Paul does'nt slack off

It's been a while been realy busy with work but starting to make some more progress managed to get whole shell in primer. Engine bay ,boot floor, wheel arches all in colour. Dave has decided to make a start on all the componets he has done the engine so far, Heres some pics.
