my mk4 escort 2.0l zetec project
bought this in 2003 coz its only done 17'000 miles and has no rust on it.
then this is it now with quite alot of mods on it.

spec;
1.3 bonus f reg.
private plate A 20 RS X
engine;
totally rebuilt 2.0l zetec.
.50 oversize pistons
ported and polished 1.8 head.
kent cams.
kent pulleys.
trust stainless 4 branch.
trust inlet manifold (whilst running in) then throttle boddies.
90 spec mk4 efi management with superchip.
zetec injectors.
magnex full system.
new tappets.
new valve springs and valve seats cut.
new seals and gaskets everywhere.
suspension;
turbo technics front adj anti roll bar setup.
avo coilovers.
powder coated all over.
polly bushed all round.
power steering conversion!!!!!!
brakes;
mk3 mondeo 300mm setup, disc's drilled for 4 studs.
rear sierra xr4x4 setup
all painted up sweet.
interior;
monaco s bucket seats
seabelt harnesses and pads
saftey devices full roll cage
stripped out.
keyless car with remote start only
small steering wheel coz power steering
white dials
exterior;

brand new ford rs turbo bonnet with stainless bonnet lifters

thats what im looking at doing with mine but im going down the sme route as chiz (thanks for help & advice ) that top picture could be my car EXACTLY the same as mine all ive done is strip out the interior & put some alloys on but collecting parts & info first but now i know what i could look like top job there & keep the updates comming

how does it drive/feel with PAS as im not a big fan of it on cars ive had rion escorts mondeo but got to admit parking a slower driving you do miss it sometimes but my mk4 escort van feels safer on faster wollowey roads if you know what i mean ???

at the moment i have yet to drive it fast so i dont know how it will bee.
but slow driving it is superb.
alot of escorts suffer from unstability and it feels like the power steering causing it but it smore to do with setup.
my mk6 escort drives 100% coz the mk6 had more caster to eliminate tramlining.

it was a major job.
took me months and cast alot.
i used a nissan bluebird rack and coupling for the bottom of the steering colum.
i had to modify the bulkhead to fit the rack.
then i had to get custom made steering colum.
then custom made adjustable track rods.
custom made pipes.
but the only easy thing was using the complete mk5 power seering pump and bracketry assembly which you couldnt do unless you had a zetec.
major pain in arse.
id spend some time looking around scrap yards for a p/s rack that will be more of a direct fit rather than the nissan rack
