Default Ford Mondeo 2001 1.8

I have recently bought a 2001 mk3 1.8lx mondeo but the engine needs replacing because of burning oil. what engines would fit in this car? would a mk2 v6 2.5 engine fit in?

Yes it would fit no problems, but with all the work of taking out the old Engine, ECU and other things, fitting all the V6 parts and then changing the V5 Documents and telling your insurance company, you may as well just buy a V6 chap.

Well yes, but what's the point? Mondeo V6 Mk2's can be picked up for peanuts now, so you may as well just drive it as is. By the time you change the V5 Docs and declare it to your insurance, it will have cost more time and you will end up with a car exactly the same as the one you bought.

But the insurance would be the same once you declare everything...
