colours: red black white(which i have) silver, blue
output:115ps around 113bhp
3+5door available
all 1.8 zetec engines,RS2000 style rear bumper spats and side skirts, boot spoiler front fogs honeycomb grille and front bumper grille(also on si),white dials but black clock(si too)half leather interior incl steering wheel and gearknob,pas, central locking, elec front windows, aircon(dunno if this is standard) cosworth style alloy wheels and if you`re lucky a heated front screen,if your really lucky it`ll work too
havent a clue on build dates for them
common body problems are rust at the bottom of the front wings as the drain holes clog up easily, rusty arches, rusty A pillars havent seen many like this but did have an si which went around the check strap, not least they rot from the inside-out on the rear chassis rail where the rear beam mounts onto it, mainly the N/S

They also did them in a dark metallic green because my mate had one, dunno what the actual colour was called though, His had remote locking too but the key was goosed.

Electrical wing mirrors was an option (not seen many with these on either, they were more common on Si's)

Sunroof was an option

Escort GTI's were made from 1994 (M plate) up to 1999 (T plate) they also made them in METALLIC RED. alot of my friends that had these as well as me all had issues with the fuse box.

Mine was charcoal green lol I actualy loved that colour but didn't see sence in doing so much body work and keeping it looking standard,

97 and 98 only I'm 99.99999% sure although as with any car there may be some late registered cars, there's plenty of replicas about, and by t reg ford no longer made a three door escort
