Default ka brake upgrades

right, the standard brakes on my ka are.....dangerous!! they r so crap!! so, should i buy.....

(a) tarox disks, pads, and braided hoses

or

(b) upgrade to the brakes of another ford eg. escort, mondeo if this is possible??!

which would give me the best braking power? i kno (a) wil cost me £150 or so, but how much will (b) cost if it is possible? bearing in mind i have 14" wheels on at the mo but wil most likely have 15's in the new year!

thanks!

aaron

cheers! yeh the engine is standard apart from an induction kit. ive been told that the braided hoses may also give a more positive braking feel

i had 2.0l (260mm) mondeo brakes on my fiesta. I'm from bangor used to drive a red zetec with 15" saturns? i now have a red escort RS turbo DCZ 3869. give me a flash sometime and i'll tell you what you need to do to put them on. they will be more than enough for a ka, its also cheap to do.

yeah, they are really good, much better bite than the standard brakes. I know someone who was going to do this conversion, but has now lost interest and has the callipers, carriers and disks for sale for £40 if you are interested?

yeah i know 45 quid down the drains. was meant to have them 9 months ago. i had outstanding thins for my escort which i got sorted but i forgot about the pads cause it was so long ago. you'll need to get a pair of thicker bolts to cnvert your car and drill slightly larger holes to let the bolts fit through. but the brakes are a good job, they near put you thrugh the windscreen of my mates fiesta
