Default any auto electricians? mk1.5 focus stop/tail light issue

Hey peeps, as above my focus has developed a fault where my brake lights and tail lights work but when the lights are on if I brake the offside light goes out completely, is this a common and easy fault to fix or anyone any ideas?
cheers

Sounds like an earthing fault. Can you swap the bulb holders over? They do corrode. If not you need to see where the lights earth to and see if it's a good connection.

Thats what I thought but would a earth fault only affect 1 bulb as the same earth does both rear lights? I checked the bulb holder and it looks fine no corrosion at all

it will be the bulb holder mate,to double check this swap the bulb holder to the other side and the fault will now be on that side.

Earth fault. Take everything apart and clean it.

As stated it will be the bulb holder. Had exactly the same problem on my sons FRS. Bought 2 new holders from Ford, fixed the problem instantly
