What's a q plate escort cosworth worth with front end damage needs front panel bonnet and lights. On eBay now but he's asking 10k for it. Is he mad????

If it was on an age related plate and not on the list I would say providing it's ok then 10k wouldn't be a bad shout but the q plate kills it and he says its hpi clear so why is it on a q??

Is q plate not because it's been built up out of parts from more than one vehicle.....as in numbers on shell not matching motor

I'd of thought 10 was abit much considering it is damaged and like you say a Q plate which probably affect cosworths more than most cars because of the way people are wanting complete original cars with good history.

Unfortunately the value is probably not far off as many people will have access to a log book or shell for non Q and hey presto the problem and history goes away.

Value is about right these days. I could of bought this car a few years back for £7.5k before the bump. It looks to have been re shelled with a new she'll years ago, but a decent job done on it and it was pretty mint, may of deteriorated now, the then owner also had a lotus cortina, I wish I'd bought it now.

I am surprised. I would have thought being ace plate already and with s stuffed front end it would only realise 5 to 6k at most as it can't be worth much more than that in parts

It should easily fetch £8k+ in parts these days, decent 4wd engine is at least £2.5k these days. Even a set of escort wheels are minimum £500.

Yeah wouldn't be surprised. I recently got offered a grand for a standard 200 block iv got here. Madness! I'm half tempted to sell it and add a bit more get an alloy one. The prices have gone crazy.
