Just had this little lot fitted and collected the car this afternoon - hoses, K&N, Dump Valve etc - am very happy ! Looks good and sounds great and the workmanship is top notch by my local garage.
Just a couple of q's though - dump valve dumps as it should but I also get a lot of flutter/chatter too - at the same time ! Is this normal ?
And I've never seen a little K&N (top right of the cam cover) and a bung in the top of the intercooler used like this ? Car runs and drives spot on so assume it's all okay - is this just another way of doing it ? Just never seen it before ! Am well happy but just wondered what you think ?
Cheers, DW.

Thanks James. I'm well happy with the result - I wasn't expecting flutter and the dump valve noise - just one or the other - so both is a bonus !
The chap said he fitted the K&N as the pipe was one of those that went into the standard airbox, so could vent to atmosphere, so rather than leave it hanging or otherwise, he fitted the little filter instead ! I think it looks really tidy - another unexpected bonus !

PassionFord Post Whore!!
I've not seen under a yb before to be honest hence my confusion too
And yeah the crankcase breather pressure will vent to the standard airbox if I'm right, but now vents through the breather. Neat work and nice to see him use an actual k&N not an ebay special haha

The bung is correct. I believe that's where your standard plastic dump valve would be but as you have it fitted in your silicon hose now, the original pipe needs to be blocked off. The small K&N is fine, although you may notice the smell of oil in the car. If you do, you'll need to re-route your breather pipes into a catch tank, which will then vent under the car away from the blower motor.

Zetec turbo is correct about the bung at the top of the intercooler. Ive got the same small K&N breather on my saff. Its been fitted for years and its been spot on.
I love the sound of turbo chatter.

Yep, faulty ISCV - I think ! Cannot get it to work correctly - tried a new one and no joy, garage has checked everything they can think of, and no joy - so now just run with it disconnected and it's been absolutely fine !
What breather would you recommend ?

I love the sound too !
I don't know why, but I always thought that if you had a dump valve fitted, you didn't get chatter ? But I'm well happy, as I seem to have both now !
