Default Something fun for the weekend?

Having just sold my MR2 and my van is going hopefully this weekend I'm thinking of buying something fun for the weekend. A few grand is what I want to spend and just wondering what everyone would get?

Main points are;

Practicality isn't important.
Big enough for a 6 foot 4 bloke.
Not French!
Quickish (under 7 seconds 0-60)

I am thinking something Japanese 90's with a turbo but open to others. I'm also thinking maybe just wait and get looking for a decent well priced Saff Cossie. Plus points being it won't go down in value and will probably go up and I have always wanted a Cossie (would love a 3dr but a few years away from that). Bad points; good ones are very thin on the ground especially reasonably priced. If they go wrong it can get expensive and ROT!

Cheers Rich
