Paul,
On a serious note, make sure it's been built by some respectable tuner AND this is the important part, have half as much money again put aside incase things go wrong, they can be costly

You can have mine for 12k lol.
You will get a minter with a good spec for that amount of money.
Im waiting for someone to say "why do you wanna spend 12/14k on an old sierra.

All good replies guys.
Not saying I'm after a mint one as I do wanna use it and not just have it as a show piece, but a nice car with plenty of spec or scope for for further modding.
I do also appreciate things can get expensive when they do break....

For 12k you could have a 3dr.It needs a bit of tlc and needs to be trailered away according to the ad.

With them two cars for example Glenn, you won't get a decent well specced 3dr for that money, they are all 15-16+ easy.
That one looks ok but is fairly standard, I would need to throw thousands and thousands at it!
Same with that saff, it's basically just a stage 3, to turn it into 450-500hp with all the additional bits it's another 15k on that

Happily retired
why do you wanna spend 12/14k on an old sierra .
Seriously think long & hard about spending that much money on an old Ford.
Spending 3 times that may get you a really decent spec car with all the parts to make it reliable. Read these pages to see how many run these cars at high spec for a long period most buy, realise it cost a fortune & forget the dream or chug around without using its potential.

I've thought about it for ages Rod, but all other stuff I've driven and cars that mates have including evos. Nissans, old rwd escorts etc just don't do it for me...
I realise they go wrong and are expensive to maintain and run etc but it's 100% what I want.
I've had Cossies and rsts most of my driving life and love em hence deciding to want a big power saff now.
I think if it's modded right it will be reasonably reliable anyways but I'm not shy of doing work on it myself and changing stuff/tinkering with it as I enjoy that.
And it will def be driven as it should trust me, hence I'm not after a mint or concourse car.

I knew Rod would say something lol. It would be a boring world if we all liked the same things.
My cossie has been really reliable in my owner ship.Well it wasn't for the first few months. Its been spot on for 8 years now.

cossie fan (unluckerly)
Biggest problem you have with good saffs that are high power with all the bits on them is if the owners are still into them they won't sell them.
If there not into them they want to brake them to get more money
