i was on slicks but not drag slicks ,avon hillclimb slicks, did try mickey Ts but as i run a 15inch wheel they were 26 inch overall and never felt grip like it ,stalled the engine launching at 8000rpm ,but it knackered my gearing and felt unstable when at the top end,as when running lows preasure with a big sidewall you cant really just lift of the throttle as tends to wander around, maybe wont be as bad on yours as its heavier, but i prefer the gearing with the avons,

i may have a chance then , im looking at possibly hoosier 275/40/17s i cant get a smaller rim over the rear brakes, they will only be 110mm tall so still quite rubber bandy but hopefully enough to get traction in 1st, the 888s have nothing in first gear lol

i should hope to be in the 10s anyways on proper slick tyres.

Was doing a search for 30-100mph in top, and this thread popped up

I was testing my low-down torque after getting a revised map as this was lacking on the old map/ was getting a bit more lag low-down

I have got old figures, 35seconds, 30 27 and today i got a 24.1 second 30-100mph in top (revised map/ 20psi ) (track, of course)

I can run 22psi which might bring it down a little but im planning a new intercooler, inlet manifold/ revised hoses so i'll wait till then

Quite pleased with my 24.1 sec 30-100mph in top, what are others getting?

ive done it in 6.24 seconds so far, that was at full power but im sure the 30-60 could of been better with better traction, I think it may just nip in the 5s on a perfect pull, I need some hot tarmac though to try it.

crazy to think 14 seconds felt quick 5 years ago lol

My v box, id guess your 30-130 mph will be over 10 seconds, you've got to still get to 130 mph plus knock off your your 0-30 mph

Doesnt seem unreasonable.

It'd likely take 2s ish to get to 30. But it'd also likely take maybe another 1s to get to 130.

So maybe highish 10, or 11 ?

Get a VBox and find out all such stuff for sure though. On a nice safe straight clean dry road

On the road etc....nope lol

Not really an increment I've paid any attention to, simply for traction reasons.

Even the other increments, of which there are various now. Yanks like 60-130mph, Others do 100-200kph, some in UK do 30-130mph

Mine would probably do better at 100-150 than anything sub 100.

One Santa Pod run from 2016 before the clutch slipped, best I see for 30-130mph is 6.6s

Dont have any VBox runs from a decade or more ago though

do these vbox things need to be plugged into a laptop to download stats ? there seems to be quite a big range from Ł150 to Ł2000....id be interested in a plug and play....on dash digital display unit with stats but not involving software and laptops ….

This is the older VBox.

It is fully standalone ( ciggy lighter for power ), it records everything onto SD card for review later, and it will also display whatever stats you have it configured to display there and then at the time.
You cannot review older data on the unit though, only current results.

https://www.vboxmotorsport.co.uk/ind...performancebox

The newer VBox Sport, is standalone....in that I think it can also be used from an internal battery as well as external power.

However, to review any data you need to use an external app on the phone or something. So no idea what options that actually gives you as dont think they have their own app ? It's reliant on 3rd party apps. But it also saves the data for review on a computer later too.

https://www.vboxmotorsport.co.uk/ind...ers/vbox-sport

Some like the Dragy, its a newer thing. Again...it must be reviewed on phone. And it does not log or record. So if you miss something....you miss it.

https://dragy.co.uk/

I use the original VBox Mini.....bloody expensive it was too ! It probably does offer things I'd never use over and above the Performance meter, although it did allow access to better software back then too.
Oddly..I note the Performance meter above indicates 0-60, 0-100 and fixed stats like that, so not totally sure if it allows used defined stats. On my VBox Mini, I can enter any manner of test criteria, speeds, distances etc etc

Although in the VBTS software you can do anything you want. IMO, the ability to record everything onto the SD card is invaluable. Just plug it on, do whatever you want in the car, and review it all later. I prefer recording it all as a single long file, makes collating a bunch of tests far easier than multiple files.

However their more recent VBox Test Suite software for 99% of normal people is far better and easier to use than any of their older stuff. Certainly for straight line results anyway. It has a few issues they should have resolved years ago too....but it's still great software.

It's ideal for that.

Just plug it in, leave it powered up all day and it will record everything. Although I guess that's also dependent on the 12v supply staying live all day.

But to get results with the VBox, after your initial setup, you do not need to do anything before a run. I think you need to let the Dragy know you're about to do a run and set it to go....which would be annoying.

I have the performance box older version and it's brilliant

Just switch it on and do all your driving, get home plug SD card into PC and review the whole recording and cut wherever you want to make timed pulls from all the data

I absolutely love it and wouldn't change it, I don't know what I can review on the unit itself as I've never tried, I always do that at home on pc with the provided software which is brilliant imo

Fuzzy here's a few I made earlier I love all this stuff

RS6 stock Vs remapped 0-110 mph 11.8 seconds standard, remapped 10.4 seconds, 1/8 mile mph increased from 101 mph to 107 mph

RS6 30-130 mph 10.3 seconds mapped 690 hp

And my best one ever 30-130 mph in 6.28 seconds

that all looks a bit fancy for me....im not really interested in downloading data onto memory sticks or cards to analyse on my pc later.....im just looking for an accurate digital display that will tell me what my stats are on the run ive just done as I join the queue to run again....
