Help me out gents.......
right as some of you are aware my 3dr has been evicted from the olds house and has to come to mine, Its been stood in the garage a year and i today went to move it........
Newly fitted are level 6 ecu (second hand),greys, Chip,
It hasnt yet run on above and wont if i try too
I couldnt check fuck all as got no tools, It turns over and every so often splutters but fails to start,
ECU warning light is on permanent but im led to believe it is if running a level 6 ecu, either that or we have a fault, Goin back on sunday to try again, any ideas of things to look for as proper head fuck today
Going to.......
Gap phase sensor
gap crank pick up and clean
gap plugs
check cap,dizzy,leads
check all sensor connectors
can i test engine temps sensor (blue) or is it best change it?
Put new fuel in too no joy

Seemed like there wasnt enough fuel to run to me but having no tools couldnt check out,pump is priming and there is fuel so im puzzled,hopefully setting gaps etc will sort. just pain as ecu,chip,injectors are all thats changed so think fault could only be there but it has been stood for a year

i know shit about these mate but i remeber a post a while back aout a car that had been parked up then when took out wouldnt run right think it was map sensor but if youve swapped some bits over like ecu ect wouldnt it need a remap to run right?

danny - how do you know what spec that chip was designed for and if yours is the same spec. You will need to adjust your fueling and boost too for the chip and a few other things. I would get it checked by a PRO IMO.
I have recently changed my ECU from a L1 on greens to a L6 on blues but then the engine came with it and there is no warning light coming on mine - so it could be you have a duff ecu or something. Personally get Stu to come round if it aint too far from him and you cant get it out the garage im sure he will have it running in no time

But Ran it should still start and tick over, even if the chip isn't for his spec, granted its not recommended but it should do the trick.
Does its fire at all Danny? or does it just whine over constantly as though the coil has been disconnected (hint hint )

Also if its been standing for a year, have you tried jump starting it from another car, as that battery will be on its last legs and i'm surprised it even turned the engine over!

russell it was on charge a week The chip is an off the shelf specced to my setup, i cant set up till she running but it should fire up anyway! It fires every now and again,sometimes starting but running at around 100rpm and wont raise to idle before cutting back out, need to rule out ecu 1st think or engine temp,just cant see it being that as thought they usually over fuel if fucked and she aint dont think!
Its gotta wait till tmoz anyway cause im drinkin tday so keep ideas coming!!

i had the same prob mate, it was the blue plug that was fuked, check your spark from the coil lead it shoulb spark like fuk, if its intermittent but still working i would say its that, if youve no spark at all , ignition amplifier? best thing for definate is arrange with stu to get it to his, you can piss around for weeks tryin to find a prob they wiill find in minutes
