anybody know this 3 door K500 COS
#4
not a genuine one but i remember the ebay ad from ages ago saying it has cosworth on the logbook, i dont think it is a ford built car though
it is a motorsport shell probably with a dvla vin number stamped onto the strut top, i guess it would start in SABTVR****** etc etc

the guy mentioned above from PTS and then onto A1 was Jay.
was almost every nut and bolt RS500, did have a genuine 500 inlet but was more recently taken off, also has full leather retrimmed Recaro interior.

The car is not a genuine RS500. I know somone that knows the current owner. He trades Fords and cossies. Is a very nice car though but like indy says basically a kit car that someone lost alot of money on that thought it was a genuine 500.
RS500s didnt have RS500 on the logbook, they just have Sierra RS Cosworth.

just finding my feet
as in people go on about not original ect then buy a mint 3 door thats been restored that was actually a shell with a saph swopped over onto it,,, so another kit car rather than a "genuine" car,,,,,, hope that explains better

was around this way last year in the maidenhead area, and a Guy called Jordan owned it for a while. I got some vids here of it being ragged up @ Reading cruise. Was a nice car when he had it.

revived this thread due to an apology oweing to dave the gent who owns this car at the moment.
in my post above i was out of order to him in respect to being out of line due to going by facts that someone i know that knows him giving me the wrong info.
i have another mate who has since met dave and delt with him a feew times.the mention of k500 cos came up and my mate mentioned it to me.not once did dave say to him that this car was a 500 at all. yes it has been built from a 3dr and it HAS been built from 500 parts.it is on a swedish plenum but he also has the 8 injector rail if someone did want it.
i have since been to see the car and tbh with a good clean up paint work wise(ie a good wash and polish)it will come up clean again.the interior is very nice too and it is n the cloth rather than leather, and its on a set of 3dr rims now rather than those azev's.the log book does say cosworth 500 but thats just how its been registered.my 205 was registered as an mi-16 and they didnt make one of them.
short of it is. i was wrong to slate dave in the way i did going by hearsay without actually hearing it from his mouth.he is actually a nice bloke tbh
sorry dave

Just talking out loud here, but how does the car get away with having a K registration?
I thought you couldn't put a plate on a car that made it look younger than it actually was?

It belonged to Jason who at the time was working for Steve Scott, the car was an animal nd a very good finish.
Personally I would buy an E reg for it from the DVLA then you would be halfway there.
It was built from new parts in 1996 hence the K reg, I have been out in this car many times, a very good buy if its up for the right money.
