No not allowed to, in case it is your mate who sends it!!
Depending on where you are recovering it from and what the circumstances are they may ONLY accept the owners(at the time) insurance.

get it done with a proper fax. go to a stationers and get some decent quality paper and then photocopy it and fold it a few times with you logbook/mot and then tell em its the original and if they dont belive call the insurance company to confirm,,, they WILL do that

btw when i got mine emailed and printed the post office said they cant take it as it reads copy document on it and i need the original

so i spend 3 hours with MS paint erasing all the dots that show up as copy document and then went back the next day with both

it was actually spot bollock on too, was well proud of that

I had a faxed copy accepted once when I had to produce after picking up 3 points, so it is worth a try. Although I had to do a bit of talking as they wouldn't accept it at first!

I lost my document and my insurance company sent me one out from the time i requested it and did not back date it!

I asked the man at the desk in police station to ring them and he did with no problem then sent me on my way!

The point here is that someone else was driving at the time they were stopped, the police should not accept it, got no time for uninsured drivers myself.
I hope ther police do not let you have it, as they should not, if the twat can afford petrol to use it he can afford insurance if he can't then he should not drive it.
I also hope they do the person who allowed him to drive as he has a LEGAL OBLIGATION to ensure it's usage is legal ie insured.

my old man feels the same way about people who speed, he thinks there all dangerous and should be locked up for 6 months, if you cant stick to the speed limit then you shouldnt be on the road

the idea of the justice system is not just to punish but to get people to learn and fix there mistakes

by them allowing people to get insurance and collect the car is a FAIR policy imo as they learn they cant break the law, they pay a fine and they then have to get insurance to get there car back,,,, its a pukka idea imo and dont forget they also get 6 points on there licence and a fine for no insurance ontop too

considering if he STOLE the car he would get a caution, fuck all fine and the owner would pay for the damage ect i think its a fair system
