Default Broken suspension spring

Had the car jacked up today and noticed the front Spring is broken, so I tried to start undoing it all, but couldn't undo the top nut, they are Koni's on the front so I tried an 8 mm and 19 mm spanner but it wouldn't budge, any ideas?

air impact wrench or a decent cordless impact wrench, keep the weight on the wheel so the spring is compressed

I've got the same dilemma at the minute!
Looking at what setup to have on my 4x4. Koni (dampers) are fine to get hold of. But struggling with choice of Spring.... GGR? Spax!!! Can't see eibach for sale anywhere anymore!

Didn't Ahmed bayyjoo do a spring set for these?

I think I would be speaking to koni and whilst you are at it ask them how much a full refurb would cost as I suspect the dampers would be past their best.
