Whos doing the best fitting performance exhaust system for a 2wd saph these days? Currently using a Mongoose but its forever fouling underside of car etc, such a bad fit imo.

Ive a mongoose on my escos and these guys have just fitted a new centre box and cut all the mild steel brackets of and welded new stainless ones on.
Really transformed the car now, no rattles or vibrations £150 all in Proper job!

Best fitting exhaust was a extreme from woodford garage. But it was made by the same firm who makes the mongoose. It had flange joints and brackets on centre prop and diff so fitted better.

But Sue Collins got her pants in a twist and stopped woodford from producing them.
Shame really good exhaust only downside was a 4inch slashcut tailpipe. I changed mine for a 3 rolled out.

Blue flame I believe were the exhausts with flanges also, if it's not the same thing we talking about

Not availabe anymore they only do bike exhausts, I asked last year

The only let down was the flanges were mild steel and rusted

My Mongoose fits ok... Took a bit of messing about adjusting it.. The car runs quite low, obviously bottoms out on speedbumps, but otherwise ok...

Possibly Mike mine has steel flanges too.
I also have a power engineering one which is very nice and all tigged joints. But again no longer available.

for the best your looking at a bespoke system by either simpsons or hayward and scott.

Put a mongoose on my saph and the fit is perfect I think the new systems are 4 piece instead of the old design which is a 3 piece system a lot more adjustment due to the link pip from down pipe to mid box instead of a one piece downpipe

Never seen a new one but that extra joint will make it easier. I would also use mikalor clamps too as they clamp evenly around joints.
Magnex was always a good one but again is it available.

Got mikalor clamps on mine, much better than u clamps! From the start, my back box didn't seem to fit right, either press on the bumper, or not right in the cut out. That was cured when a car full of pikeys backed into it one day, was perfect after that!!
Didn't cost me anything either! Well, only a punch in the face....

I used to have an Extreme exhaust on my old 4x4 saph and that was a really nice system apart from the nasty 4" inch slash cut tail pipe as previously mentioned.

I recently bought a Mongoose system from a fellow member on here and when tried to fit it, it just did not fit at all but that was due to running a 6 degree rear beam and a Supra diff. In the end I got a custom system made by Edwards Motorsport. It cost a little bit more (but not that much more) than what you could buy a new Mongoose or similar but it fits perfectly with no knocks and the welds are lovely on it.

A good tip is to run a hose clamp around the exhaust-mount to thighten it up.

Never had any problems with the Moongoose on my 2wd saff after doing this.

Magnex stopped making exhausts?
Fits ok even after welding Magnaflow cats into the pipes, although ground clearance is pretty bad with the cats.

Hi mate sorry off subject but can I Ask what springs you have on your Sapph? Mine is a little low at the back and I would like it to sit higher yours looks about right

All the stainless steel upgrade exhaust systems have the same problem, the centre silencer is too big and too round. The answer is get a custom made oval shaped one made to replace it.My Sapphire 2wd is quite low and before I did it the centre box would hit speed humps etc.
I know it is extra expense but I feel it is worth it, I never have a problem with it grounding any more.

That ones not mine, this one's mine. Same issue as yours, on Ahmed's Koni's.

Pics on the MOT bay was 1/4 of a tank.

Pics on the sunny day was fully loaded boot of socket sets, spanners, spare oil and a full tank of fuel ready for the maiden voyage up to hartside.

Ok thanks Mike mine is on eibach springs but she's low although I like the look I can never really take anymore the one passenger out in it lol

Tony ,yours sits as low as mine on the 17 inch wheels. I have also got Eibach springs, Koni front , Bilstein rears which I found stopped the back end squatting down on a hard launch. I have also had the arches rolled, fitted a custom made oval shaped centre silencer and it never grounds out. I like the low look on a Sapphire.

Presumably that's for a rubber mount rather than a poly one?

Maniflow in Salisbury, Wiltshire. You cant buy one off the shelf though , you would need to take your car to them. They will make it for you while you wait and then fit it.
