3 door prices
Hi newish to the scene was wondering what price range do 3 doors start and reach! I like the idea of a 3 door cosworth bit looking for something with a good history but needs work, I want something to work on to make concours don't really want a minter? Also something kissing engine and box or unfinished project? Anybody got any car they know of? Many thanks Steve

Hi I do like the idea of building one from a shell? But it's finding one with a decent history as you wouldn't wanna do that with a doggy, flaky history shell. Are most 3 door parts readily source able. Is there anything I would struggle with, what do you think parts would total to build from a shell?

If you want to do a proper job bud your gonna want 15k easy. That's what im into mine for but then its being built from a brand new shell with 500bhp.

3dr rich sounds great? So including the shell your think your gonna be into 15k including everything and 500bhp? You spend that on a okay one? Where did you get your shell and did you have a ID for it?

I got lucky as bought a complete rusty 3dr for 5k then bought a genuine new old stock road shell for sensible money from oakfields in hook. I have done pretty much most of the work myself.
Be careful if you do this as you really cant have a budget when your doing a project like this.
I think sometimes I would have been better of buying a nice one to start with

I would say spend as much as you can and get the best you can for your money, otherwise you end up chasing your arse trying to find mint parts to finish yours. Either that or the people who are breaking their cars have you by the short and curlies! Charging a fortune for spares!

The prices are all over the place.
People see nice ones up for strong money and expect to get the same for there shed.
Mind you the high priced ones you see on ebay/pistonheads over and over again so they must be priced to high.

Dead simple with these cars they are priced based on the condition of specific parts.
The range is going to vary massively between genuine Mint cars and 100k+ cars that have been driven in all weathers and are in your average everyday condition. The only problem is those in the trade that don't actually know too much about parts etc have issues with pricing and value everything top dollar.
Personally if i were looking for another car i'd want to be looking at enthusiasts car's in the high teens early 20's but the condition would have to match the price tag.

Wahay!! I've lost my Virginity!!
Depends if your buying to make money, or buying because its your dream car!
Does it matter if its Ł5k or Ł20k. In the grand scheme of things its still relatively cheap money for a car that you have aspired to own and will not deprecate like a modern motor?

Still good cars outhere James, got my eye on one, just hope it comes off, if it don't then hey ho
No one can tell me you can't get a PROPER 3dr for 16k
Buy on condition NOT milage too, that's where so many folks get it wrong too imo, low milers can be dogs for sure

i think most people at the minute are probably looking at dealers jumping on the bandwagon and overinflating prices .they feel annoyed as it was them the owner/ enthusiast that have spent many man hours and thousands of pounds maintaining these cars to the standard that a few nice pics and a load of old bullshit that the dealer have copied and pasted out off the internet seemingly warrants the high prices lol
