909 Top mounts fitting problems

Default 909 Top mounts fitting problems

I get a set of 909 top mounts from the bay, now i have problem..

The top peace will not fit into the top rubber, i tried with oil and all my body weight, but they
will not get in without destroy the rubbers..

is there any trick or something to fit them??

Mate, I might be wrong here, but I'm not sure you can fit those with a regular rubber bush from a road car.
Mine are similar but are bolted to an eccentric top mount that goes on the underside of the turret, and the part on the top side (similar to the one you've pictured) carries a bearing that the threaded rod of the damper fits through, and is secured by a top nut. There's no rubber bushes involved.
Hope you find a solution.

They must fit into the rubbers in my opinion, here are the link from the pay and

Use soap.

They are designed to be used with the original bushes IanRS1700T has different mounts. Also, fit the mounts to the rubber BEFORE you fit the shocks. You need a tool to tighten the top nut ass well.

The lower part fits in the rubber, but the top part dont reach the thread, i didn`t get it deep enough into the rubber bush as i show in the picture..

I think there is something wrong with my top mounts, i cant mount them, i allready destroyes a bush at trying to mount them..

If i messure the bush hole i have 52mm and the top peace of top mount have 58mm..

Strange, my top mount was a tight fit, bit it didn't rip anything.

There are my bushes

Here i lift the car from the bottom at the lower part of the top mount..
still not enough to bold the upper part on



I think there are at least 5-10mm space between the treads
