Hi Guys,

Quick question I'v about 6 sets of Sierra Mk2 smoked rear lights, Just wondering are the Hatch and Sapphire the same light or is their a difference ?

If they are different how can you tell?



ETA: Also what are all the differences between a Cosworth and a normal Saph besides the obvious? I know running gear, Clocks, Front Bumper, Side Skirts and Interior are different what else? (Only want to know so I can easily spot the reps :P )

the Hatch one's are thiner and sit at a tilt on a sapp

Trust Ford to make em different! Cheaper to make them both the same!?
Thought it was just the tilt bit that was different...

Can I tell the difference by part numbers or any markings on them?

Would try them on the car but ain't seen it in over 2 years

You can tell the diffrence by looking at them as they are a diffrent shape!

as said they are different units, massive difference on the price of the units too saph rear units around £70 each from ford hatch are around £160 each don't know why but they are

Any idea of second hand prices? eBay seems to be all over the place with prices.

2nd hand prices are round the region of £30-£40 a pair, ebay is up n down with prices though, sometimes things go for more, sometimes less, nature of the beast as they say

Defo different the hatch back ones are shorter than saffs.

i have a very good set off ambers for a hatch and two sets off very good rs smoked for sapp

Hi again,

Had a look at them and 2 seem to be ever ever so slightly a bit curvier on the outsides but I'm not 100% sure.

Could anyone post pics of both types or maybe even how exactly to tell the different because I'm at a loss?

To the guy above, I'm in Ireland so would be a bit dear to get them across unfortuneately

one is thinner than the other

if i had pics i'd show you but the esiest place to see the difference is along the top trailing edge all along the back where it sits against the bodywork

hatch at the top, saph at the bottom, and you can see how the saph is much thicker than the hatch light

Ford Sierra Hatchback mk2 codes are as follows:
RH 87BG 13A602 BA
LH 87BG 13A603 BA

Ford Sierra cosworth mk2 (Smoked type) codes are as follows:
RH 90BG 13A602 AA
LH 90BG 13A603 AA

Are they much differences in prices for "brand new original ford" for that above 3 types?
