Default 3DR Cossie - Aftermarket Alloys - Advice

Hi Ya…

I am just about to order the following for my 3DR.

Front 17" x 7.5
Rear 17" x 8.5

I can order them in any offset as the wheels are blanks at the moment.

What "offset" should I go for, naturally I want the best looking (not sucked under look).

I have standard brakes and the wheel arches are not rolled/trimmed which I want to avoid doing. The car has lowered springs (approx 1 inch) but I also have the original springs if need be.

The shop suggested +25 for the rear and +20 for the front which they got from an old BBS wheel fitment guide book.

Thanks guys..

MB..

Front ET35
Rear ET25

Depending on how much want to chop the rear arches you can push it out as far as ET15, I run ET23 on the rear with quite abit of arch work and ET33 on the front I don't think you could go much more than ET30 on the fronts.

Thanks everyone for your input and photos, wow.... some nice looking 3DR's....jealous of all of them, hopefully mine will look as good once finished.

KODAK - just to clarify, when you say your offsets are the same as Rich "mentions", are you referring to what Rich recommended (Front ET35 & Rear ET25) or what Rich has on his car (Front ET33 & Rear ET23). And are your rims 17 x 7.5 & 17 x 8.5

Thanks again everyone.
Cheers

Hey KODAK.

Once again, thanks for your help......

So your's are "8.0" on the rear........ the ones I am getting are going to be "8.5" (I can only get them in either 7.5 or 8.5).

I am wondering if the "8.5" with ET25 on the rear will be OK or should go for a different ET on the rear. Any way, I have got the front ET sorted so far.

My next question is going to be "tyre" size you are running.

Cheers

I'm running 205/40/17s front

215/40/17s rear my friend.

Do you have Arch mods on your 3dr??

If so you'll be fine with the 8.5s and bigger tyres..

Simple solution to this is don't lower it too much - mine used to catch with standard arches front and back

Mine are 8.5 rear with ET22 and they used to touch the arches but i was running the car this low on coil overs - you need to go for a bigger tyre on the rear i got 215/40 then realised they were 8.5 and not 8 as thought but their is 225 but i think they only do them in 35 profile, for a 40 the next step is 235

This is now with all arches sorted and the rear lifted

Thanks everyone....... settled on ET35 (front) and ET25 (rear), they should arrive later this week. I will then workout what tyres to go for.

Cheers

BRAMMER - so what tyre size are you running on the rear now...... still the 215x40 or did you change up to 235x40.

Cannot find 225x40 here in OZ, only 225x45, scratching my head here a bit.

Cheers
