Default Cossie cough (Rain water)?

Yesterday morning on the way back from work my cossie was miss firing like a twat but everything was ok, leads etc etc fine and afr not reading lean or rich, with next to no throttle. Thing is it chucked it down the night before and was wondering if rain water got into my air filter via the bonnet vent and the engine was sucking up excess water in the filter. Could this have been the cause, because after 5 minutes of letting it run in a lay-by she ran sweet as a nut. Any ideas peeps? This has happened before after a downpour.

Like a sensor getting wet. Might look at the cps as I never have looked at it. Thing is it has been driving fine yesterday afternoon and driving in to work this morning raining. The fault hunt is on lol.

Can't see it being water in the filter, as said more likely wet electrics somewhere.

A problem I have found when power jetting the engines was the air inside the dizzy cap condensing on my car when the cap was hot from engine running and water hit it, I cured this by enlarging the 4 breather holes under the phase sensor to 8mm, keeps a lot cooler inside cap and stops this.
