No m8.

Standard head bolts are stretch bolts.

Head bolts are made by victor reinz ive been told and supply ford with them.

try not to go with the cheap copy ones loads of people sell as i have tried them and ended up having to fit genuine ones as they ultimatley failed.

ford dealers scotland way are roughly £65inc a set of 10.

The way to tell a genuine bolt from a copy is to look at the end of the thread at the very bottom it should be flat. And there should be writing on the top face saying germany and some other writing i cant make out. eye sight is getting bad.

The copy bolt has a v shaped cut at the bottom like a countersink.
It usually hits the base of the block when fitted as i seen first hand when i bought them from woodford or graham goode cant remember which.

They also have no writing on them what so ever.

Remember to tap the holes out the block with an m12 tap before you replace them.

If i can help give me a shout.

Regards, Stephen

I definatley wouldnt have a problem buying these bolts from this guy.
He supplies some good stuff.

One of my friends bought some stuff from him recently and it looked top quality.

just ask him the question. who made them before you make up your mind.

hope i have been of some help to you.

Going by the set that i have here.
they vary in length from 0.5 to 1 mm copys they actually look used.
you can tell a copy right away as it has the unfinished square edge look and the v at the bottom

the genuine bolts are and look stronger.
and are in my opinion
and crucially all within the same length give or take 0.1mm

Hope to be of some help m8

the original bolts have germany stamped in them.

i would be quite happy to use them if they look the same.

one of my used sets was provided from Ford dealer in Ukraine and bolts was stamped as "K X 1000".
Another set was provided together with OE Ford gasket set for YB(including bolts, head gaskets etc) and also bolts was stamped as "K X 1000".
So, I think it is possible that there are was several different manufacturers of bolts for FORD...
And there is no facts that bolts stamped as germany is better then K X 1000 or VRG...
I have used my K X 1000 for 400bhp with std VR gasket without problem.
