Default another diff question

iv been reading i can fit a 7.5 diff to my 4wd set up as the ratios are almost the same, how can i tell what diff i have on my car at present as i dont know what the car was when i bought it as a rolling shell! is their a code on the side?

There is from new a tag on one of the rear cover bolts, a aluminum tag, if it's missing just use some chalk, mark bottom of wheel, after raising rear on axle stands etc, rotate the wheel one full turn and count how many turns it is on the prop, eg one full wheel turn you will/should find is 3.6 turns of the prop.

I think he wants to know how he can se the differense between the 7" and 7˝" diffs.

just want to work out what diff i have on my car to if i need to buy another one for what i need!

it has the tag but very rusty lol

Measure it across the bolt hole, will be either 7 or 7 1/2
