BOOST GAUGE PROBLEM
I have just fitted a new boost gauge for my 4x4.
The thing is there is a bit of a problem.
I fitted it inline with the dump valve line from the inlet plenum with a
T piece at the plenum end.
I moved it to the d/valve end, and the problem is the gauge works but the air the the dump valve to make it woooooosh is starved in some way and the wastegate chatter is stupidly going mental at bugger all boost if you know what i mean as the dump valve is not opening and is making the actuator think OH i need to relive the pressure blah blah blah.
Now if i carry on with it being like it is i fear i will knacker the acuator spring even though it sounds awsome. (currently back to normal)
The turbo is a t34 hybrid with a -31 actuator and the dump valve is a group a diaphram type valve.
I have checked the t piece and it is the same internal diameter as the dump valve line as is the tubing to the boost gauge.
Your wonderful advice on here would be great as always many thanks.
Ben
