hi guys,wot oil do i use on a fresh rebuilt engine(2wd) ive have done 500 miles on mobil1 15/50,but i have been told that i shud b using a cheap mineral oil to help bed the new pistons n rings in as the fully synthetic protects it to much
any help will b most gr8ful , thanks andy

I would be tempted to stick some mineral oil in there for the next 500 to 1000 miles and then switch to Silolene Pro S 10w-50.
Remember to do an oil filter change now and then again on the next oil change.
Make sure you keep the boost down low (under 7ps ish) and dont let it rev for any length of time. However on a run revs should be built up slowly and then let back down again.

i asked the oilman this very question the other day,he recommended at quality 10/40 mineral oil to run in,and then pro s 10/50 silkoline
