Long Studded RS500 Block
Hello all.
here we have my rs500 block that I bought a while ago for a big build but has stood in the garage. The block has just returned from Cleasby Precision Engine Services where it was fully checked over and cleaned internally and externally and prepared ready to build up, they commented its a "used but as new block" on standard bore. The block has had the inner 6 bolt holes long studded, so will need no preparation to build a big bhp engine.
£2500 or very close offer thanks

Is the rs500 block different to the basic 205 block then as normally people go for the 200 block.
Nicely presented by the way

**RS COSWORTH**
I maybe wrong but as far as I know Rs500 205 blocks are the 200 blocks that were later fitted to the Escort Cosworth.

Hi the rs500 blocks were considered the ultimate block they have thicker walls smaller core plugs than the 200 blocks and the sapphire 205 blocks and were run in the 560 bhp touring cars back in the day. They are very heavy/stronger compared to the later 200 and 205 blocks

I always thought the rs500 block was the same strength as the 200 block?
