Default FRS Big Break conversion

Hi,

Has any of you out there uprated the Focus RS breaks? I am going for the AP racing 6 pot caliper kit for the front, it comes complete with 343mm grooved discs,Ferodo Ds2500 pads, braided hoses, fluid and all essentials to complete upgrade.

I'm now wondering what to fit to the bsck of the car, do I fit standard discs and have them machine grooved? Or could I opt for the EBC rear discs and fit them?

Any expert advice greatly appreciated.

Why not fit smaller AP's to the rear then ?

Grooving a rear disc will make no difference to it IMHO.

And EBC - your obviously more worried about looks than stopping performance

No, it's not all about looks. FRS being front wheel drive with engine at front all the weight is at the front so about 90% of the stopping power is needed at the front. But as I'm upgrading to grooved discs on the front I am kinda naturally thinking the rear's should be grooved so as to not over advantage the front set up or put out of balance so to speak.

I'm no pro on this matter but if I put AP calipers on the back would this not cause the back end brakes to lock up?

They are much better than the standard brembo disc and pads on and off the track!

Sorry mate kinda miss understood you there. My supplier says that AP dont do a small rear disc for the FRS and said he would have the standard ford ones machine grooved for me! I'm not convinced this is the best way to go???
