Fast indicators
Hi chaps, after finally finishing my erst restoration, one of the last niggles I've got is fast indicators. Hazards are fine, but indicators are slightly too fast.
I've changed relay and fuses with no difference to eliminate them.
I've got 12v5w front and side bulbs, rears are 12v21w. Are these the correct bulbs? Obviously somehow I'm not making enough resistance for the relay...?
Googled the hell out of this but not found a fix, surely there's a solution or something I've missed that doesn't involved bodging an extra hidden bulb in? Help!
Thanks, Andy

It does sound like a bulb problem
I had the same thing on my old Xr2, they all worked but flashed fast as if a bulb was out and wasn't. Not your case but mine turned out to be a 24v commercial bulb in the front.
You should have 21w front and back and 5w sides

Could be the bulb holder itself in the rear lights. Mine was doing this after the rebuild and was doing my head in. Then I knocked the bulb holder and it went away, then came back again later. Changed the bulb holder used the same bulbs and it's been fine since.

As said, I'd also look at the holders and wiring. Clean up all of the connections. Finally, check what your battery is charging at. Anything between 13-14.5V should be fine. Above that and I'd look into possibly getting another alternator (preferably secondhand). Escort altenators are made out of chocolate these days and really seem to suffer with the heat from the exhaust.

Awesome thanks for your response guys. Problem solved!
Hunted through a few local garages for different front indicator bulbs. Eventually found some 10w jobbies to replace my 5w ones and this has solved the problem. Easy! Didn't find any above 10w though. Seems 5w are the common/norm for this size bulb.
Thanks again!

Those bulbs only fit the rear. The front ones are smaller. As per this link
