From your other thread this is only at idle isn't it? Once you accelerate and under load (boost) there is no smoke? What about from cold start, is still the same just at idle and not at other times?

If there are no traces of oil in the intakes hoses and your breather system is not blocked, it could be rings (it should smoke from cold though too), might be worth doing a compression test.

Ok,went to start car this morning,no smoke on start up.After about 5 mins it started to smoke.i did change the standard breather setup to a bailey breather 3 weeks ago thinking that this may help but it didn't much.tommorow I will do a compression test as Karl suggested but I am also thinking it could be the turbo?i put the car back on the road late last year after it being stood for over 4 years.

it sounds turbo .my friend had the same prolem 3 weeks ago .did you check the intercooler for oil .if you see oil the rings from the turbo are damaged and brings oil to the cooler and air filter

Maybe you have an oil leak, if oil is getting onto the exhaust it will only burn off once it's hot and not from cold.... as you drive along the smoke still comes out the back of the car (from underneath) but it can easily look like it's from the exhaust.

What does this signify?not being a mechanic at all!
