Default The felt/carpet/trim that is under the dash, over the pedals...

The felt/carpet/trim that is under the dash and over the pedals... How do you actually call this part? I've been trying to find a replacement for ages, but can't find it. Probably can't find a suitable search term either.

the original part is under a centimeter thick and reasonably stiff. When it has gotten wet many times over the years, it has lost its' strength and become over 2cm thick soft fluffy blanket at places.

Is there any proven method to restore the strength and look?

It's indead sound deadening material. I think you can just use the new stuff unless you really want to keep it 100% original. The audio boys have tons of this material.

Typ "sound deadening mat" on ebay and there you go

Just to be clear, I'm not about the sound deadening mat that is against the bulkhead, but the piece of pressed felt that is over the pedals. It has a very precise shape to it, and I can't easily see it replaced with flat material.

Exactly.
Anyone found a way to regain some strength in them?
I could of course just bid on those as well if they weren't for RHD.
