Xr3 Camshaft fits Rst?
Hey,
my first question here and i hope i can get some Help. I have a complete brandnew Piper Blueprint Camshaft kit for Escort mk3 Xr3 Carb Engine. Does That Camshaft fit my RS Turbo Engine as well? I don´t know if there are any differences between the 1,6 Carb and the Rst Camshafts. Cause if it won´t fit, i´ll sell it. Thank you Guys

yes, turbo cvh's are physically the same but make there power in a totally different way. it could work way worse than a std turbo cam. turbo cams work very well as standard

decent intercooler, stage 2 turbo at a bar of boost with a setup from a guru and a chipped ecu will perp it up a bit. nice and punchy aswell as reliableat that

So nothing to do with the Engine? Like other Head Gasket? I was Thinkin of a Boost Controller, just to raise the Turbo Pressure a bit. Maybe to 0,7-0,8 Bar. Can i do that without doing something else?

Stage 2 turbo is overkill for what's mentioned.
An Airtec intercooler, fitted with a chipped ECU, Turbo back exhuast And air filter in either box or a cone, and a Stage 1 turbo(if you really want to spend solid money). There will be some lag but for the boost you plan is quite fine.
A stage 1 turbo is good for at least 1.4 bar of boost which is more than enough for an old Escort. I'm running 1.2 bar and that is plenty for me. To much boost and power will result in you requiring deep pockets for rebuilds and repairs.

Sounds good. But where can i get an chipped ECU? It´s really hard to get Rst Parts here in Germany. Can i run 0,8 Bar without changing the Head Gasket or something?

When you want to keep MFI:
1. Invest some money in a set of new injectors
2. Give Suhe a call, might be the last place in Germany for tuning an ERST.
Don't spend silly money on sports or rally camshafts. Your engine will benefit more from more boost and a chip.

i have already contacted Suhe, they offer me a Chiptuning for 380 Euro. But what´s the difference between the Suhe chip and the chipped ecus you get to run on more boost? The chipped ecus you get are loads cheeper than the Suhe one. or is it the same? So all i need is a chipped ecu that fits my car, and with that i can rise the boost? I don´t want to spend 380 Euro if not necessary.

Suhe will apply the chip, put the car on the rollers and will test several maps. The one that fits your engine best will be programmed. That's why it costs a little bit more.
